Test Fest & Career Expo Day Schedule

On Wednesday, October 8th, Andale High School students will take part in Test Fest. Below explains what will go on that day according to your student(s) grade level. Please read carefully as there is a lot of information!

Freshmen: Pre-ACT
Sophomores: Pre-ACT
Juniors: PSAT or ACT Workkeys
Seniors: AM Job Shadow, community service, or post-secondary visit, PM Career Expo and Apply Kansas

Freshmen and Sophomores need to bring a pencil and a calculator on the 9th. The Juniors that have signed up for the PSAT will need a pencil and calculator as well, otherwise, they will need their charged Chromebook for the ACT Workkeys. We will not provide calculators for testing. If your child is signed up and paid to take the PSAT, they will report to school at 9:00 am. All other Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen will report at the normal start time.

After testing is complete, our students will take part in a Career Expo at AHS. We will dismiss at regular time on this day and practices will run as normally scheduled.

SENIORS
The Seniors received a separate handout pertaining to their options and the requirements for this day. Included is a form that is required to be turned into the office after their experience. All Seniors will need to join us for the Career Expo. from 1:00 – 3:22. If a student does not participate in both activities without prior approval, it will be counted as an unexcused absence, and they will not be eligible to attend practice or school events that evening.

This should be a beneficial day for all students. We feel that this is an excellent opportunity for your student(s) to take advantage of a day that could potentially help to plan their future. If you have any questions, please call the office.

Andale High School has a new nurse!

Haily Jones
Hello!

My name is Hailey Jones and I am excited to serve as the school nurse here at Andale High School. I have been a registered nurse for over 10 years with experience in pediatric intensive care, emergency nursing and oncology nursing. I am originally from Michigan and just moved to Andale with my family from San Diego where my husband was stationed in the Marine Corps. My husband and I have two children, Finley and Piper, who attend Andale Elementary. We also have a cat and golden retriever puppy who keep us busy at home!

As your school nurse, my goal is to partner with families, staff and students to support student health and well-being. I will be helping oversee daily health concerns, chronic condition management, immunization compliance and health education. I will be working closely with teachers and staff to make sure our school remains a safe and healthy environment.

My office is always a safe space for students - whether they are not feeling well, have a health concern or just need a mental health break. I truly believe healthy students are happy students, and I'm here to support both kids and families however I can.

Please feel free to reach out any time at Hailey.Jones@usd267.com or by calling the school office. I look forward to meeting you and working together this year!

Notes from the Nurse

Hearing and vision screenings will take place the week of October 13 for all 10th graders and new 9th graders. Students who had failed hearing screens from 2024-2025 school year will also be re-tested.

Message from the Bookkeeper

First National Bank of Hutchinson is cracking down and will no longer be accepting checks being deposited by Andale High School if they are not made out to Andale High School

Checks coming to the High School for respective clubs need to be made payable to ANDALE HIGH SCHOOL. In the Memo line is where you indicate which club or sport the money goes too. Make sure you are also putting your student(s) First & Last name in the memo line. This same process is applicable for Sponsors and or Community Donations as well.

I appreciate your help on this!

Career Expo

We are excited to begin planning this year's event and wanted to get the date and RSVP link sent out to you.

Our Career Expo will be held on Wednesday, October 8th from 1:00-3:00 PM at Andale High School. The set up and format will likely be very similar to last year's expo! If you'd like to RSVP for our event, please fill out the following google form;

https://tinyurl.com/Career-Expo-Form

You have 2 options to participate in our Career Expo if you're interested.

1) Booths/tables will be set up around the walking track in our new gymnasium. Display what you want at your table and students will come around and ask questions about your career/business.

2) If you'd like to give a 25 minute presentation on your career/business, we will set you up in one of our classrooms to present to groups of no more than 30 students at a time. (Will give 3 total presentations.)

3) You can definitely sign up for both options if you have multiple people attending the expo!

Fun things happening in Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts has been busy in the kitchen learning about different regions of the United States of America. Our students were assigned a region and learned what the staple ingredients, geography and climate's role in the food, cultural/immigrat influences, signature dishes for the area, and a fun food fact or food festival. They then shared their knowledge on their region and their cooked signature dish with their classmates.

Teaching as a Career Class

Students are busy in Mrs. Bruna's Teaching as a Career class. Students have just finished working on bulletin boards for the Andale High School teachers. Working with the teachers and getting the design just right takes a lot of communication! Next on the agenda for these students is studying the different learning theories. Stop by the 100 Hall during Parent Teacher Conferences to see their work on learning theorists!
